5 Tips to Slay Summer

By Guard Your Health

Already feeling tempted to slack on your fitness this summer? Guard Your Health, a health and wellness campaign for Army National Guard Soldiers, is here to help you reach your health and fitness goals. Use these tips and resources to slay your summer:

  1. Challenge accepted: Grab some buddies and take Guard Your Health’s Slay Summer Challenge, which kicks off July 9. The six-week challenge features workouts, recipes, and more to keep you active all summer. Teams will compete for a spot on the team leaderboard and the top-performing teams will receive Guard Your Health swag. Register for the Slay Summer Challenge today!
  2. Prep for success: Fueling your body with the right food will improve both your performance and your mood. Try out meal prepping to help you stay on track with healthy eating. Not sure what to make? Download Guard Your Health’s new #ClassIRecipes Cookbook for simple and delicious recipes.
  3. Experience the great outdoors: Getting in a great workout doesn’t require you to be a gym rat. This summer, ditch the gym and take your workout outside. Try out one of these #WarriorReady workouts, no gym necessary. Or, soak up even more of that summer sun by going on a hike or jumping in on a game of beach volleyball.
  4. Beat the heat: It’s easy to get overheated during the summertime, which is why it is important to stay cool and hydrate often. Bored with plain ol’ water? Try adding fresh fruit, like lemons and strawberries, or mint to zest up your water.
  5. Find your fitspiration: Whether it’s meeting friends at a group fitness class or getting new workout gear, figure out what motivates you to train and live a healthy life. Check out Guard Your Health’s inspiring Personal Stories, which will provide you with the motivation you need to get through your toughest workouts.
